For Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving, Shanghai Maya restaurant was hosting a charity dinner for Xinxing Aid for Street Kids, an NGO in Shaanxi province that provides support for homeless and disadvantaged youth. www.xinxingaid.org.cn Thank you to all 52 of you who turned up to support Xinxing on Nov.24th, 2015, with the support of Maya, the Good Agency and the lovely volunteers who helped us totally raised over 55000RMB from tickets and silent auction items to support the disadvantaged children in our 4 centers in Shaanxi province. Thanks to all silent auction prize donors also for helping the kids and thanks to our media supporters for helping to spread the thanks giving word.

Xinxing's introduction

Baoji Xinxing Aid for Street Kids was legally registered in 2006 as the first non-government organization to work with street kids in China. The coordinator and a number of staff already had a few years of experience of working with disadvantaged and homeless children and young people through “Medicins Sans Frontiers” for Baoji street children’s program. However, even maintaining the existence of an NGO in this sensitive field required high levels of commitment, extraordinary youth and child work skills, and perseverance. Xinxing began its work by providing a residential care centre with 24 hour services provided by full time carers on roster.
